PowerExpander Family PowerSafe receivers are not recommended for use with
any of our systems. These types of receivers were never designed to be
used with any power management units. We are compatible
with all other JR and Spektrum recievers.
The Smart-Fly PowerExpanders provide full power to servos and clean power to receivers at an affordable price. The PowerExpander family can
accept an input voltage of up to 8.5V. Your servo choice
will determine the type of battery you can use with the
PowerExpander since they do not regulate the servo voltage. The PowerExpanders do not have regulators for the servos, whatever comes in the power input conectors goes straight to the servos. All the PowerExpanders have a receiver regulator that takes power from the two power inputs, filters it and regulates it down to 5.0 volts so the receivers always see clean power regardless of what the servos do.
PowerExpander
Sport Plus
The PowerExpander Sport Plus is designed specifically for
85cc or smaller size planes. It uses standard R/C plugs
(up to 2 per battery) to connect the battery packs to the unit. It also has a built in BatShare, Ignition Cutoff and can be used with an optional failsafe switch. For detailed information please see the user manual links above the picture.
Full RF filtering of all signals in and out of unit
Fully buffered signal line for each servo
Long servo lead line matching
Integrated Ignition Cutoff
Operates with optional Failsafe-switch
Light weight, 1.9 oz (54g)
Compact design, 2.6” x 3.5”
PowerExpander
Sport
The PowerExpander Sport can be used with any size aircraft. It is a good choice for dual receiver 150cc aircraft (you must use two) because it is smaller and lighter than our other PowerExpanders. Even though it is small, it can handle the power necessary for a single receiver 150cc plane. This
unit does not have battery isolation between the 2 battery
inputs, they are shorted internally. It also does not
support the use of a failsafe switch. For detailed information please see the user manual links above the picture.
Full RF filtering of all signals in and out of unit
Fully buffered signal line for each servo
Long servo lead line matching
High-current Deans UltraPlug power input connectors
Light weight, 1.8 oz, 52g
Compact design, 2.6” x 3.5”
PowerExpander
Pro
The PowerExpander Pro can be used with any size aircraft.
It has “Smart-Sense inputs which will isolate a bad battery pack It supports an optional failsafe switch
which enables or disables both batteries. It can be
used with 2-cell lithium packs if your servos can take the
voltage. It has a dedicated 5.0V, 1 amp regulator for
the receiver. For detailed information please see the user manual links above the picture.
“Smart-sense” inputs will isolate a bad battery or indicate a bad connection
Filtered and regulated 5.0V power to receiver
Receivers can be end-loading or top-loading
Ten servo channels
LED indicators for servo and receiver power
Full RF filtering of all signals in and out of unit
Fully buffered signal line for each servo
Long servo lead line matching
High-current Deans Ultra Plug power input connectors
Optional Failsafe-switch operation
Light weight, 2.6 oz, 74g
Compact design, 4” x 3”
PowerExpander
EQ10
(10-channel Servo Matching Built-in)
The PowerExpander Eq10 can be used with any size aircraft.
The PowerExpander Eq10 has servo matching on all ten channels. This unit makes economical sense if you were considering a PowerExpander Sport or Pro and needed more than 2 Equalizer IIs for servo matching. For detailed information please see the user manual links above the picture.

PowerExpander
Competition 12
The PowerExpander Competition 12 can be used with any size aircraft. It is primarily designed to work with the Futaba and JR 12-channel radios but any receiver with any number of channels can be used with the unit.
It supports an optional failsafe switch which enables or
disables both batteries. It can be used with 2-cell
lithium packs if your servos can take the voltage.
It has a dedicated 5.0V, 1 amp regulator for the receiver. The unit also boosts the servo control voltage to 5V for compatibility with all servos. The unit also features a built-in Ignition Cutoff but is sold without the Cutoff Receiver and Fiber-optic cable for jet applications.
