Smart-Fly regulators fall into
a couple categories. The family consists of the standard regulator,
failsafe regulator with on/off switch and our dual-battery
family of regulators. All our regulators have adjustable output
voltage. All these are described briefly below with a link
to a more detailed description.
Ignition Regulator
The Ignition Regulator is designed
for use with lithium batteries and electronic ignitions.
The Ignition Regulator has a fixed 5.2V output and has
a current capability of 3A continuous. The regulator has
a large output capacitor to handle the peak currents required
by an electronic ignition. The regulator has universal
connectors with 22-gauge wire.
Dual Battery Family of Regulators
The dual-regulator regulator
family has two regulators in it, the SuperReg and the
TurboReg. Both these regulators have Deans UltraPlug connectors
on the input and output to handle the high currents that
these regulators are possible of. The SuperReg is suitable
for aircraft with 100cc engines and below (approximately
8-9 digital servos up to 260 in/oz) and can supply approximately
7.5 amps to the aircraft at common input and output voltages.
The TurboReg is suitable for aircraft with 100cc engines
and above and can supply approximately 17.5 amps at common
input and output voltages. For more information on these
regulators please click on the picture.
